World Collage Day (Sheffield)

Mark the annual, international celebration known as World Collage Day by creating a collage at the Ritz Theatre Annex. This year, local artist Taryn Chase Jackson (https://anyslyenchanter.wixsite.com/my-site) will be joined by family history documentarian and writer, Shannon Milliman (https://www.remembrara.com), to discuss the importance of capturing and preserving life’s special moments and guide participants in the making of their own collage based on personal memories.
Materials (paper, magazines, scissors, and glue sticks) will be provided, but you’re encouraged to bring your own—including photographs (or photocopies), letters, cards, ticket stubs, or other ephemera. Bring your mom for a fun Mother’s Day weekend activity!
This event is open to the public and no experience is necessary. Youth are welcome, but an adult should accompany kids under 13. Come out to explore this accessible art form and post photos of your creations with the hashtag #WorldCollageDayTVMA. Special thanks to Tennessee Valley Museum of Art for sponsoring this event—it is free to attend but donations will be most welcome!
